A Driving Force

A Driving Force logoA Driving Force is a project that will provide outreach and education to vehicle owners in Cornwall and the surrounding region about vehicle maintenance and driving techniques that will result in lower fuel consumption and GHG emissions.

The three main components of the project are:

  • Establishing a standard "green" vehicle maintenance package of services that will be offered by numerous automobile service providers or retailers throughout the community;
  • Developing a series of educational videos that showcase local experts demonstrating vehicular maintenance activities and driving behaviours that reduce GHG emissions (i.e. no idling, non-aggressive driving, alternative fuel choices, alternative transport options, checking tire inflation); and
  • Holding a series of workshops that provide one-on-one support and answers from local experts on vehicular maintenance and use.
